Maldon town's Christmas lights are on - it's official

IT may have been the strangest year that any of us can remember - but tonight there is a familiar sight in Maldon town centre.
The switching on of Christmas lights in Maldon more usually takes place when the bustling Christmas market comes to town.
Of course, that hasn't been possible in 2020, like so many other things.
However, not to be completely outdone by this strange start to the decade, Town Mayor Jhual Abdul Hafiz and his wife Mayoress Shamema Begum climbed the stairs to the Moot Hall balcony this evening (Tuesday, 24 November) and set Maldon High Street aglow.
Merry Christmas, one and all!
