It's not long to wait now to find out who will be the winners in the community awards that recognise the work of individuals and teams to help others during the pandemic crisis.

Each weekday over the past two weeks, Maldon Nub News has brought readers the stories behind the community heroes and heroines who have been shortlisted for how they helped the people of the district in their hour of need. The celebration of their efforts is surely a beacon of light in a dark and unprecedented year.

The winners in each category will now be announced on or after 12 December by leader of Maldon District Council, Councillor Wendy Stamp, with a short video featuring the winners produced.
