The following is the March newsletter from Maldon's Limebrook u3a:

We have had a very busy period with Limebrook u3a finding innovative ways of keeping active and in touch with our members.

At our February Monthly Meeting we had over 100 people attend using the Zoom Platform. We were entertained and informed by Dr James Taylor an interesting speaker whose subject was "Humorous British Postcards".

Our next monthly Meeting on the 12th of March is being opened to guests who may be interested in seeing what our friendly u3a has to offer. Peter Warne is returning to present the second in a series of talks about African Wildlife. As an accomplished photographer, he will use his own pictures to enhance the stories of his experiences and life in Africa.

If you would like to attend this meeting, please send your details to our Membership Secretary Tim Stubbings at the email adress here: [email protected] and he will send you the

joining instructions.

Our History Group led by Mike Stringer had over 40 members attending his talks in February and the next two are on the 18th March with the subject being "Matthews Hopkins Witchfinder General" presented by Mark Mitchels.

On the 22nd of April, Margaret Mills will be talking on the subject of "Mrs Beeton - the original Superwoman".

Each month Limebrook u3a have a competition run by the Photography Group. An entry from Carol Egelton won with her picture of a "Robin."

The Photoshop competition entry by Paul Madge made us all smile with his "Rain Deer" entry.

Paul organises and runs our Photoshop Group and has started a course on how to use Affinity, a software package that allows photographers the ability to change and adapt their pictures. If this interests you, or you would like to learn more about our various Interest

Groups, please visit our website for more details using the link here.
