By The Editor 7th Sep 2021

TIME is running out to nominate Maldon's pandemic heroes.

There are just over two weeks left to tell Maldon district's coronovirus response team about the people who went above and beyond during lockdown to help others.

Anyone put forward will be entered into the District Recognition of Service Awards, organised by the response team - and including Maldon and District Community Volunteer Service (CVS), the Salvation Army and Maldon District Council.

A panel of judges is ready to consider the nominations for the awards, to be presented at a virtual ceremony.

Awards will be made in a number of different categories, including:

â—Creativity

â—Keeping active

â—Technology

â—Fundraising

â—Young person

â—Neighbourliness

â—Team working

â—Kindness.

A spokeperson for the response team said: "So far we have received 97 nominations across the different categories.

"However, we are still looking for more nominations - and for sponsors to support the overall virtual ceremony, as well as

businesses who may like to provide funding to support the continued work which is being done to support residents throughout this pandemic."

The deadline for nominations is Friday, 28 August. To nominate visit Maldon District Council website

Any business or person wishing to sponsor the awards should contact Emily Fallon or Sarah Troop
