A brand new café has opened just off Maldon High Street.

The Millwood Café on Mill Road opened its doors for the very first time on Sunday April 27.

The café offers breakfasts and hot and cold lunches, as well as "excellent" coffee and cake.

Owner Nadine told Maldon Nub News: "Millwood Café is all about community, comfort, and quality.

"We're excited to officially open our doors and create a space where everyone feels at home.

"Thank you for helping us share this special moment, we can't wait to welcome you!"

Visitors to The Millwood Café have so far praised the "light and airy" décor and "friendly and welcoming" staff.

The opening hours are from 8.30am until 4pm Monday-Saturday, and 9am until 2pm Sunday. Breakfast is served until 12.30pm everyday.

The business replaces the former restaurant Plates, which rebranded and moved to Maypole Road earlier this year.
