A new charity shop on Maldon High Street has thanked residents for the support they have shown since it opened.

The RSPCA Essex Mid and North Branch opened the store at 76 High Street earlier this month, and it has quickly become popular with the town's community.

A spokesperson for the branch said: "Although we have only been open for less than a month, we've already found the store has been a huge hit with shoppers.

"We offer a fantastic range of items at the shop and all the money raised will be used to help animals who have suffered neglect and ill-treatment in the Essex area covered by our branch.

"We're happy to receive donations, particularly clothing and items of homeware, and we have volunteering opportunities for anyone who would like to give some time or get some retail work experience."

The branch is eager to hear from people who could take on volunteering roles such as operating the tills or window dressing. Volunteers can apply by visiting the shop, contacting the branch on 0300 323 0403 or by emailing [email protected].

Anyone who would like to make a donation can drop them off at the shop.
