A NEW history of Tiptree is being launched tomorrow (Saturday, 17 October) by a local author who published her last history of the village more than 20 years ago.

The new book, entitled 'Tiptree, Still a Village?' is being self-published by Elaine Bamford – the leader of Maldon District Council.

Elaine has packed the book with photographs, memories and stories of life in Tiptree from the Second World War to the 1970s.

The new work, which includes memories from Elaine's childhood, follows on from her previous work more than two decades ago, 'Tiptree, One Day a City'.

It is hoped local shops will stock the book.
