A GP surgery in South Woodham Ferrers and another in Witham are among the latest Covid-19 vaccination venues to be added to the ever-growing list in or close to Maldon district.

Crouch Vale Medical Centre in Burnham Road, South Woodham Ferrers, and Fern House Surgery in Witham began offering the jabs yesterday (Friday, 15 January).

These new vaccine centres add to the list of those already operational in Danbury, Maldon and Chelmsford.

GP practices are working together in these locations to make sure the vaccine programme is successfully rolled out to all residents.

There are also vaccination hubs working out of Broomfield and Basildon hospitals and work to take the vaccine out residents in local care homes has also begun.

The priority groups are being vaccinated first, including the over-80s, care home staff and NHS frontline workers.

The local NHS will contact people in the priority groups when it is their turn to receive the vaccine and local residents are being asked not to contact their practice enquiring about vaccination.
