Maldon Books prepare to reveal their newly extended bookshop in a grand opening on Saturday.

The popular bookstore is set to be opened at 10am on Saturday (February 17) by popular children book author, Nick Butterworth*.

In a full circle moment, Nick, who was supposed to open the store for the first time in 2019, will be cutting the ribbon to the newly extended and refurbished shop.

He will be signing books in Maldon Book's newly refurbished children's section.

The brand new attached record store, Novel Sounds, will also be opening to the public for the first time.

News of the extension came in early January, when Maldon Books owner Olivia Rosenthall told Nub News of her excitement: "We love our shop so much and it's nice to be able to make it bigger and more accessible, and also incorporate vinyl into it too!"

Maldon Books, an independent bookstore and now record store, can be found at 21-23 High Street Maldon, opposite All Saints Church.

The shop regularly holds book signing and discussion events, advertised on our What's On page.

*Nick Butterworth is a British author and illustrator of children's books and is best known for his picture book The Whisperer and his Percy the Park Keeper books, which became an animated television series in 1996.
