Maldon District Council Planning has received proposals to turn a telephone box on the quay into a Tourist Information hub.

Found on the Quay alongside the public toilets, the disused telephone box was most recently used as a micro library.

The proposals would see the telephone box given a new lease of life with new signage and a touchscreen installed inside for tourists to use.

The application was submitted by the Chief Officer of Burnham Town Council on April 30. It will soon be considered for approval.
