Planned roadworks taking place across the Maldon district this month

Find the latest roadworks lined up for the coming days and weeks in Maldon and the surrounding areas.

All highways information comes directly from the Essex Highways Live Traffic Map which is continually updated. We will do our best to stay on top of any changes. 

Maldon

Maldon Road will be closed overnight for roadworks between 06/01/2025 to 22/02/2025. The road will be inaccessible for everything but emergency vehicles from 8pm until 6am everyday, while Essex Highways install a pedestrian refuge.

Wycke Hill will be closed overnight for roadworks between 06/01/2025 to 22/02/2025. The road will be inaccessible for everything but emergency vehicles from 8pm until 6am everyday, while Essex Highways install a pedestrian refuge. There is a diversion route in place to access Woodham Mortimer, taking about ten minutes. 

Causeway resurfacing on 11/01/2025 to 13/01/2025 will affect Wycke Hill, Spital Road, Spital Road Roundabout, Maldon Bypass, Pond Roundabout , Heybridge Approach and Doubleday Drive. Delays are likely. There are a number of diversion routes in place. 

Fambridge Road will have traffic control from 15/01/2025 to 17/01/2025 due to Openreach remedial works. 

Kings Street will be closed on 23/01/2025 for highway repair works. There is a diversion route in place via Wantz Road taking about a minute. 

Heybridge

Broad Street Green Road will be using two-way traffic control signals from 13/01/2025 to 15/01/2025. These are to allow for works by Openreach. 

Great Totham/ Wickham Bishops

Staplers Heath is closed from 13/01/2025 to 17/01/2025 for highway repair works. There is a diversion route via Walden House Road taking about a minute. 

Maypole Road is closed from 11/01/2025 to 19/01/2025 to allow for utility repair and maintenance work by Essex and Suffolk water. There is a diversion route via Prince of Wales Road taking about three minutes. 

Latchingdon

Fambridge Road is currently using multi-way traffic control signals. These will be in place from 7pm 09/01/2025 to midnight 22/01/2025.  They are to allow for utility repair and maintenance works. 

Burnham-on-Crouch

Creeksea Lane will be closed from 13/01/2025 to 24/01/2025 to allow for highway improvement works by a third party organisation. 

Maldon Road, Ferry Road and Creeksea Lane will be Access Only from 13/01/2025 to 24/01/2025.  

Station Road will be using two-way traffic control signals from 15/01/2025 to 17/01/2025. Essex Highways are undertaking works to the roadside gully at this location. 

Mangapp Chase and Green Lane will be closed from 9.30am 20/01/2025 to 3.30pm 21/01/2025 due to works by Openreach. Delays are likely.

There is a diversion route in place, taking about six minutes. 

Woodham Mortimer

Conduit Lane is closed from 06/01/2025 to 22/02/2025 for Essex Highways maintenance works. 

Post Office Road is closed from 20/01/2025 to 22/02/2025 for Essex Highways maintenance works.

Mayland

Mayland Hill will be closed from 8am until 6pm on 16/01/2025 for maintenance works by UK Power Networks. 

There is a diversion route in place, taking around four minutes. 

Cold Norton

Latchingdon Road will be using two-way traffic control signals. These will be in place on 24/01/2025 while Essex Highways undertakes works to repair the highways at this location.
