Ofsted published an inspection report today (Tuesday 23) stating that Plume Academy in Maldon remains a 'Good' school.

The report, based on a two-day inspection on November 28 and 29 2023, rated the secondary school's 'Overall effectiveness' as 'Good'.

This is the same result the Fambridge Road school received at the last inspection in January 2018.

The glowing report by the Office for Standards in Education rated the school as 'Good' across all areas: The quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, Sixth-form provision and overall effectiveness.

Praise in the report included that "Students are proud to attend Plume school.. Pupils get on very well with eachother.

"Pupils follow a broad curriculum that prepares them well for adulthood. They learn about different careers and gain the information they need to make informed decisions at key points."

In regard to Sixth-form provision, the report states that Sixth-form students "Build on the knowledge and the skills they acquire in the main school, and as a result they achieve well".

Ofsted carries out inspections every four years.

All inspections at Plume have resulted in a "Good" rating since becoming an academy.
