ARMED police and a police helicopter were used to search Maldon yesterday (Sunday, 31 August) after reports that a man could have a gun and a knife.

Police teams rushed to the town at around 5.55pm after they were told that one man had been attacked by another, who was possibly in possession of a knife and a firearm.

Officers continued to search today and this morning arrested a 26-year-old man from Felsted on suspicion of assault following a domestic-related incident at an address close to Fambridge Road, Maldon, yesterday.
