"This weekend has been just as bad - in fact, totally diabolical."
"This weekend has been just as bad - in fact, totally diabolical."

The following is a letter from local resident Diane Noyce, about the road closures in Heybridge.

Read more about the road closures, and how they affect both residents along with those working in and around Maldon, here.

"It is an absolute nightmare even getting in and out of our road."

"It is absolutely ridiculous. I actually live in Heybridge and it is an absolute nightmare even getting in and out of our road.

"Why could work not be done on one road, then close the other one once work has been completed on the other road?

"I was trying to get to the dentist this morning, half a mile down the road. I'm disabled so I can't walk it (trust me I'd love to). It took me over 25 minutes to get there and that was not even in rush hour.

"Having more houses built round here is ridiculous. It's all about money and profit for the councils, not the welfare of every day residents.

"Soon the children won't know what green land is - it will just be 'concrete city'.

"The doctors' and schools are full now, it's not a case of just building a school or doctors' - it's being able to staff them in the first place.

"I have lived here for 48 years and it's just getting worse and worse.

"This weekend has been just as bad - in fact, totally diabolical.

"Thank you very much, councils, for just wanting to line your pockets constantly."

Mrs Noyce
