There are reports of some flooding in different areas of the Maldon district this morning (Thursday, 14 January), including at Goldhanger.

It is believed that some roads in the village have been closed due to the hazardous conditions.

Holloway Road in Heybridge is also under threat of flood and Essex and Suffolk Water workers have been on standby there this morning, with a tide of close to 3m expected at around 1.30pm (this impacts the situation in the road). Further rain is also forecast through the day.

Essex Fire and Rescue Service has reminded drivers not to attempt to drive through flood waters as these can float a car at just a few inches of depth.

Maldon Nub News will bring you any updates on the situation as more news comes in.
