Loungers plc has announced the opening of Salero Lounge in Maldon High Street on Saturday November 25.

Loungers, the West Country-based café/bar group, has transformed the former Post Office on Maldon Highstreet.

The site has been decorated with heavily patterned wallpapers, tiling, and stripped wooden floors now feature alongside oversized vintage sofas, upholstered lounge chairs, eclectic artwork, and statement wall and pendant lighting, creating a variety of cosy and elegant drinking and dining areas to choose from.

Described as "A family-friendly home from home", Salero Lounge will cater to all tastes throughout the day with a varied all-day menu.

Gemma Irwin, Community Manager at Loungers, says: "We are delighted to finally be opening Salero Lounge in Maldon and hope our family-friendly environment and top-notch food and drink offering will prove popular with local residents. We're passionate about integrating genuinely into the local community so we're looking forward to meeting everyone and to playing our part.

"Our teams always go the extra mile to make a difference and they are actively encouraged to connect with their communities by working with local groups, charities, organisations, and businesses that are at the heart of the fabric of local life. Anyone looking for a space to host events or community groups should pop in. We'd love to hear from them and see what we can do to help."

The new café offers a diverse menu, from tapas and salads to burgers and specialised menus for vegans and those who are gluten-free.

Particular attention has also been paid to families, with a selection of games, books, colouring pencils, and a craft table available on site.

The team at Salero Lounge will donate 50p from every burger and 20p from each coffee sold in the first month of trading to charity, as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the local community.

Salero Lounge has created 30 new jobs for local people as a result of opening.

This news comes almost 2 months after Salero Lounge was forced to cancel its opening after building plans were withdrawn.
