A drift of more than 2,000 purple crocuses have been planted by members of Maldon Rotary Club and Maldon in Bloom volunteers to remind visitors to Promenade Park of Rotary's commitment to the eradication of the Polio virus.
Polio has been all but eliminated worldwide thanks to a 30-year programme of immunisation initiated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and supported every step of the way by Rotarians.
Crocuses have also been planted in St Peter's churchyard in Maldon and Heybridge Cemetery, again to remind people of the End Polio campaign.
At their latest meeting, members of Maldon Rotary Club voted to send £100 to continue supporting this vital cause.
A spokesperson for Maldon Rotary Club said: "The club would like to thank members of the community who support Maldon Rotary Club's fundraising."
