'Britpop Shakespeare' returns to Maldon's Promenade Park

By Neil Jones 26th Jun 2025

Following their success of their inaugural show in Maldon last year, Castle Park Theatre is returning to Promenade Park this July to perform a comedic classic.

On July 4 and 5, the Twelfth Night show will take its place in the Maze Garden by the Maldon Museum.

This year's show takes the classic comedy of mistaken identities and bad manners and presents it with a Britpop soundtrack, including Pulp's Common People, Oasis' She's Electric and of course Blur's Parklife.

Following a hugely successful run in Colchester's Castle Park throughout June, the show is now on tour, firstly at Prested Hall, on Friday, June 27, and then finally in Maldon.

Gates open at 6.30pm for people to enjoy a picnic before the show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £16 and £14 for concessions, available from castleparktheatre.co.uk.
