Maldon's Tesco Petrol Station is currently closed to the public after part of its roof collapsed onto the forecourt below this evening (Saturday, January 14).

The whole petrol station is surrounded by police tape and the kiosk is closed.

No customers are said to have been using the pumps directly below the collapsed roof when it fell.

"A large contractor" is expected to be called in to repair the damage. It is not yet known how long it will take for the roof to be repaired.
