THE Maldon Festival begins this evening at St Mary's Church with an opening recital of 'The King of Instruments' at 7.30pm.

The festival will run from today (Friday, 25 June) through to Sunday, 11 July with a wide and varying programme including everything from art exhibitions and concerts to jazz and classical, choral and orchestral music performances.

As the festival was cancelled due to the pandemic in 2020, this year's festival has a 'fresh start' as its theme. Many of this year's events are to be staged in the open-air, with opportunities for al fresco eating alongside the chance to enjoy music provided by the Festival's wonderful performers.
