Two more people have been arrested in the Maldon area after a Police 'Day of Action' on Tuesday (October 8).

The arrests were made after separate actions in the Wickham Bishops area and Burnham-on-Crouch.

Police first intercepted a vehicle in Wickham Bishops and discovered large quantities of cash and suspected controlled drugs.

The driver was subsequently arrested for being in possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.

Later, an address in the Burnham-on-Crouch area was searched and a significant amount of suspected class A drugs and cash was located.

The occupant was arrested for being in possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.

Police also stopped another vehicle in the Maldon area suspected to be involved in drug supply, though no arrests were made.

Sergeant Dalby said 'We have done it again and will continue to do so.

"My team is made up of experts in searching, search warrant acquisition, pursuit driving and various other skill sets that ultimately mean they are intercepting vehicles suspected to be involved in criminality, cannabis cultivations and executing search warrants in this district on a regular basis.

"If you are involved in drug dealing in this district on any level, we will look for you, we will find you and our objective will be to put you in Prison"
