The beach at Bradwell-on-Sea: an unauthorised party was planned for this evening

AN unauthorised music event planned for Bradwell-on-Sea this evening (Wednesday, 12 August) has been stopped - and police have warned partygoers to stay away.

Essex Police intervened to stop the event - which many may have planned to travel to from far and wide – after receiving reports this morning. Officers are on hand at the scene.

Two arrests for conspiracy to commit a public nuisance have been made in connection with the matter.

The police are also considering putting a dispersal order in place and can stop any vehicle they suspect is travelling to the event within five miles of the beach.

Chief Superintendent Glen Pavelin said: "We've acted swiftly after receiving reports of an unauthorised event on our beaches in Bradwell-on-Sea.

"We have officers at the location and we understand that people and vehicles are travelling into Essex to attend this event.

"The message is clear – turn around or face being directed back home by our officers. We will use powers at our disposal to ensure this event will not take place.

"If you're coming to Bradwell-on-Sea to attend this event, you'll be disappointed."
