Maldon & Heybridge Horticultural Society Summer Show at the United Reformed Church Hall, Maldon: Saturday July 30, 10am-3.30pm

  • Admission to the show is just 50p and is free to exhibitors.
  • Pop in and take a look at the fantastic exhibits.
  • There will be refreshments, including homemade cakes, for sale.
  • The plant stall will be outside, packed with a wide range of great-value plants grown by our members. It will include a selection of houseplants, perennials, edibles and more.

Enchanted Family Fete at King George V Playing Field, Heybridge: Saturday July 30, 12pm-4pm

  • Come along for a magical meet and greet opportunity where you will get the chance to engage with popular children's characters and take photos.
  • Each child will receive a free sweet treat on exit.
  • There will also be prize stalls, live music, bouncy castles, face painting and food stalls too!
  • Tickets cost £12.

Charity Golf Day at Forrester Park Golf Club, Great Totham: Saturday July 30, from 12.30pm

  • Lifelong Maldonian Neil Pilgrim has organised a charity golf day to raise funds on behalf of Farleigh Hospice as he prepares to take on the London Marathon in October.
  • First tee will be around 12.30pm
  • Entries cost £39 per person for 18 holes, followed by a one-course meal.

Monthly Farmers Market at The Bell Inn, Tolleshunt Major: Sunday July 31, 9am-1pm

  • Homemade, handmade and home-grown produce, with a chance to meet the people behind it.
  • Come along to buy dinner and enjoy breakfast from the BBQ Shack with a hot cup of Tea or Coffee.
  • Breakfast baps are served 9am-11am, and the pub opens from 12 noon.

Power of Gaming Summer Family Fun Day/18+ Gaming Night at Maldon Town Hall: Sunday July 31, 12pm-10pm

  • Family Gaming 12-5pm 
  • Take part in a range of gaming activities across a variety of consoles from PlayStation to Xbox and all the retro classics.
  • You can even get up and active with Nintendo Wii, Xbox Kinect, VR headset and a dance mat.
  • Players under the age 14 should be accompanied by an adult or older sibling.
  • 18+ Gaming Evening 6-10pm (tickets cost £6)
  • Join one of the over-18s gaming nights and experience Call of Duty, Battlefield, Zombies and much more featuring the new Oculus Quest 2 VR, PS5 and XBOX Series X.

  • Songs for young children, from 12.30pm until 2pm
  • Entrance costs £5

Cash Bingo

  • Starts at 7pm
  • Entrance costs £12, and includes entry, bingo book and flyers
  • A bar is available
  • At Maldon Town Hall

Tuesday 2 August

Royal Children's Carnival Party

  • Crafts based around the Queen's Platinum Jubilee theme, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm
  • Entry costs £5, but places are limited
  • At Maldon Town Hall

Wednesday 3 August

Bonniest Baby Competition

  • A competition for new-borns to age 24 months, from 1pm until 3pm
  • Entrance costs £3, £1 for spectators
  • At Maldon Town Hall

Thursday 4 August

Car Treasure Hunt

  • From 7pm to 8pm
  • Entrance costs £6
  • The hunt will take place at various locations, starting at Plantation Hall, Heybridge
