This Saturday's 'incredible' 25-minute firework display at Maldon's Promenade Park will be provided by Star Fireworks, one of the companies responsible for London's annual New Year fireworks.

Organised by the Maldon Rotary Club, the event will return for its 48th year. Ticket sales are set to reach a record high.

Brian Farrington, Chairman of the Organising Committee, said: "We are pleased to be hosting yet another great firework event and we hope to see crowds of around 5,000 locals on the night (November 5)."

The gates will open at 5.30pm, when a wide range of local artisan food and drinks are set to be on offer.

David Baker, who presents the Daytimes show on Chelmer Radio, will be hosting the event for the third time.

He told Nub News: "It really does create a huge buzz with the crowd and in the build-up.

"The display is award-winning, so that makes us very proud to be involved.

"Knowing that funds raised from this go to Maldon Rotary Club's good causes is also very special.

"At a time like this, it's an event that really does pick you up and make you feel good.

"We're looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday!"

David will be presenting the event alongside BBC Essex's Matt Mackay.

Organisers promise a variety of entertainment to suit all ages. Young singer-songwriter Evy Frearson will perform her second and latest single on a purple-lit stage at the boating lake, which will also be surrounded by purple floodlights.

Tickets for this Saturday's festivities must be purchased in advance, as they will not be available to buy at the gate:

  • Under 5's enter for free
  • Age 6-17 - £6
  • Adults - £8
  • Families - £22

To purchase tickets online, visit the Maldon Fireworks website.

Advance tickets are also available from:

  • Tesco, Fullbridge (at the Customer Services Desk)

In addition, the Rotary Club will be selling tickets outside M&S on Maldon High Street this Saturday, from 9am until 2pm.

Those wishing to have their friend or loved one's name mentioned on the night should contact David Baker on Instagram, in advance.
