David Nicholls, 39 of Inchbonnie Road, South Woodham Ferrers, has been jailed for 26 months for possession of drugs with intent to supply following an appearance in Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday, May 3.

He had been arrested after officers stopped a silver Range Rover in Inchbonnie Road, South Woodham Ferrers in November 2023.

The driver had over £700 in his wallet, an iPhone and drug-related paraphernalia in the passenger footwell.

Officers noticed the driver, David Nicholls, had some white powder on his trousers.

They went on to find white powder, later identified as cocaine, in a zipped bag in the glove compartment.

Nicholls was charged with drug possession and remanded into custody to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court the following day.

Sergeant Matt Dalby said: "We work hard to identify drug dealers, to keep drugs off our streets and to prevent dealers peddling drugs in our district.

"Drugs can cause our community harm, something we won't tolerate.

"If you know anyone who is dealing in drugs, tell us and we will deal."

The court ordered the forfeit of cash, mobile phone and drugs and drug paraphernalia.

David Nicholls also pleaded guilty to possession of Class A drugs and was sentenced to 26 months, to run concurrently.
