NHS health providers for the Maldon district have issued a Christmas and New Year message with details of what to do in a health emergency as area enters the holiday period on Tier 4.
Clinicians are reminding people to call NHS 111 first for urgent medical advice before attending hospital A&E except when it is life threatening.
Christmas morning is set to be icy in Maldon, according to the latest weather warning from the Met Office.
Over the last few days, there have been a number of weather warnings for the area with a yellow warning remaining in place for the overnight period from Boxing Day to Sunday, 27 December, for very strong winds.

The leader of Maldon District Council has issued an open letter to the area's business community as some of those in a "desperate situation" wait for grant help.
The letter tells how council officers are processing grant applications as fast as possible and have made a plea for patience as they work through many hundreds of applications by local businesses stricken by the current pandemic situation.

Maldon's Grinch now has a Facebook page and is collecting donations for the Teenage Children's Cancer Trust.
Within just a few hours of a Just Giving page being set up today (Wednesday, 23 December) by fan Lauraleigh McLeod, the original target of £500 had been smashed and reached £1,675 - and the sum was continuing to rise.

A new weather warning covering Maldon district has been issues by the Met Office for very windy weather from 3pm on Boxing Day until midday on Sunday, 27 December.
Gusts of up to 60 to 70mph are expected across a large area of southern England. This warning is in addition to the weather warning currently in place until 6am tomorrow (Christmas Eve) for heavy rainfall.

The trust which runs Broomfield Hospital has confirmed it is now admitting more patients with Covid-19 across its three Essex hospitals than ever before - including in the first wave in the spring.
The Mid and South Essex Hospitals Trust - which also runs Southend Hospital and Basildon Hospital, has now confirmed that all non-urgent surgery has been stopped.
