A Maldon care home has been found 'oustanding' by the Quality and Care Commission (CQC) after ensuring that none of its residents contracted Covid-19 throughout the pandemic.

Firstlings retirement home, in the Street, Heybridge, has a reputation for excellence, having received an 'outstanding' rating in 2019 - but its achievement in keeping the establishment coronavirus free has been highlighted in the CQC report.

HEALTH bosses are seeking the view of those living in Maldon district to help them understand why take-up of flu vaccinations is lower than hoped.

A spokesperson for Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said: "Not enough people are taking advantage of a free flu vaccination programme to help protect them and we'd like your views and experiences to understand what, if anything, we can do differently to make sure those most at risk are protected this winter.
