James Howard of Maldon Rotary Club tells in this letter of his experience when he went along with his wife Angie for their Covid-19 vaccines at the Maldon vaccine hub at the district council offices in Princes Road. He hopes it will be useful to anyone worried about getting their jab.

Angie and I had our vaccinations yesterday and both thought it might be helpful to describe the experience.

We were contacted by our brilliant local GP surgery on Monday and invited to attend the Maldon vaccination hub on Thursday (21 January), which we did.

We were met by a Marshal who advised us where to park (it's free) thence to the entrance where a volunteer told us to join the queue and sanitise our hands .

Once through the doors a lady took our details (name and date of birth.) We moved to one of two stations for the jab (not painful and over in less than one minute).

Everyone was helpful, kind and reassuring and we would like to give our grateful thanks to the whole team.

TIP: Wear a short-sleeved shirt or blouse !

Best wishes

James Howard
