Maldon Town Council opens Book of Condolence following the Passing of Former Mayor Flo Shaughnessy

Following the recent passing of Councillor Shaughnessy, the Town Council has opened a Book of Condolence for members of the community to sign and share their happy memories of Flo.
The book is placed under the portrait of Cllr Shaughnessy in the lobby of the Town Hall (pictured). Visitors are welcome to visit the Town Hall to contribute to the book during office opening hours of 9am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Any cards or messages will be collated along with the Book of Condolence and presented to the family on behalf of the Town.
The family would like donations to be made to Maldon In Bloom on their GoFundMe page, rather than receiving flowers, as Cllr Shaughnessy was a passionate advocate of the group.
The arrangements are that there will be a private family funeral in Maldon, with a separate larger celebration of Cllr Shaughnessy's life at the Town Hall. The family wanted it held at the Town Hall as she loved being there, being a Town Councillor and Mayor.
Details of the celebration are to follow in due course once arranged.
