Burnham on Crouch Art Trail

The Burnham on Crouch Art trail will showcase the work of local artists from Saturday 22nd – Sunday 30th June. Featuring the work of 43 artists across 35 different venues, the trail is a 9 day exhibition of painters, sculptors, photographers, makers and creatives. The artists will be exhibiting their work in a mixture of venues, including, business premises, shops and cafes. This is also a very special opportunity to visit some artists in their own working environment with several exhibitions in studios in and around the town.

The trail, now in its 20th year, will feature work from new and established artists. From atmospheric land and seascapes to contemporary printmaking, installations, ceramics, textiles, jewellery and sculpture, there really is something to suit everyone's tastes. There are also other ways in which you can be involved in the art trail with a week of activities planned. From sketching sessions at the allotments to glass bead making in one of the artist's studios, these are 9 days in Burnham not to be missed!

What's on?

On Saturday 22nd June surrounded by the vineyards at Creeksea, you can take part in an outdoor intergenerational workshop with Ellious Woodroof & Hattie Philips & learn how to create plant printed artworks. Once finished, the artwork will be exhibited in situ until the end of the trail.

On Sunday 23rd and the 30th you can sit amongst the artists and immerse yourself in Art on the Quay. Several artists will be working in their chosen mediums and selling their artwork, all against the backdrop of the Crouch, (adjacent to Ye Old White Harte hotel). Sketching at the allotments takes places on Tuesday 25th and is free and open to anyone interested in sketching or working 'en plein air'. Sue Spiers will demonstrate watercolour painting and you can also partake in an informal sketching session with art trail founder Tracy Saunders. At various times throughout the week, there is also the opportunity to make jewellery with Anne Hendry and create water colour postcards with Jean Webber at the studio on Rambler's Way. Marion Sidebottom will also be holding a series of workshops, teaching various disciplines from Cyanotype Sun Printing to glass bead making. All workshops and activities are priced individually and full details of the Art Trail can be found at https://www.burnhamarttrail.co.uk/.
