Swan Hotel, High Street, Maldon
Community Events
UNTIL Thursday 2nd March
Julie Miller, Curator at Maldon's Combined Military Services Museum, will discuss the history of the museum - from founder Richard Wooldridge's childhood fascination with militaria, to the world class collection held at the museum today.
She will showcase some of its important pieces such as the 10th century sword found here at Maldon and the last surviving Cockle Canoe from the famous 1942 Cockleshell Heroes Raid Operation Frankton.
Everyone is welcome to come along to the Maldon Society's monthly talks, held in the Cygnet Room behind the Swan Hotel, High Street, Maldon.
The doors will open at 6.30pm, giving everyone a chance to look at the latest local planning applications, and to chat to committee members and friends. Drinks can be enjoyed while listening to the talk.
Visitors will be asked for a donation while members will have free entry.
It is important that anyone who is interested in coming to the meeting registers their interest via email. Alternatively, call Dorreen Linton on 01621 853 428.
