About Hannah Beer & 'I Make My Own Fun'

Hannah Beer is a writer from North West England. She lives in London and works in communications. A reformed fangirl, she has an encyclopaedic knowledge of celebrity culture that she writes about in her newsletter Emotional Speculation. When not working or writing, she enjoys reading, going to gigs and cooking elaborate meals for her friends. Her debut novel, I Make My Own Fun, is published in March 2025.

She's the woman who has everything. But she wants more. She wants you...

Everyone knows Marina, the A-list movie star. But very few know Marina, the absolute monster. Years at the top have proved that whatever Marina wants, she gets.

But when she meets bartender Anna, Marina discovers something that can't be bought: Anna's affection. As Anna remains unmoved, Marina's advances become more desperate - and her obsession more dangerous. The price of fame is heavy - and someone will have to pay for it...

About Emma Van Straaten & 'This Immaculate Body'

Emma van Straaten is a writer of British-Mauritian heritage living in London with her husband and two daughters. Born in Lewisham, she grew up on the Sussex coast, headed north to Durham to study English Literature, and is now happily surrounded by books working at The London Library part-time, with one precious day a week reserved for writing. In 2021, days after her daughter was born, she won the Discoveries Prize (run by the Women's Prize Trust in partnership with Curtis Brown and Curtis Brown Creative) and has been writing whenever she can, ever since.

Alice has been cleaning Tom's flat every Wednesday for a year. With every smudge wiped from his coffee cup, every crease smoothed out in his bed, every multivitamin counted from the jar, Alice spirals deeper into infatuation. But as Alice prepares for the moment when they will finally meet face-to-face, she discovers that love might not be the cure she thought it was. This Immaculate Body is a story of obsession, of the way women view the world and the ways that the world views them. As Alice frantically tries to cling to an imagined future with Tom, the line between fantasy and reality become ever more blurred, putting everything she has dreamed of at risk.
