AVIATION GROUP
Woodham Mortimer Village Hall
Leisure
UNTIL Friday 25th October
Many thanks to those who joined our venture into sight-seeing by Flight Simulator!!! Despite the Gremlins fighting me all the way we managed to get to see some of London from the air on a lovely sunny day. The least said about my landing at London City the better!! At least we didn't end up in the water. We meet as usual on the last Friday of this month (27th) when fellow member, Joe Marshall, will give an illustrated talk about the incident in the early part of WW2 when a Hurricane made a forced landing on the abandoned airfield at Stow Maries, including some interesting information that he has recently unearthed. Related to this incident of the Hurricane forced landing I shall share some information about what I believe to be a series of experimental searchlight sites in Essex. Finishing up with some mouth-watering flying gems from the recent 5-day airshow at Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA.
The meeting is at Woodham Mortimer Village Hall at 11.00 with doors open at 10.30 for tea, coffee, biscuits and gossip. All are welcome.
On Friday 25th October there will be an Illustrated talk about Operation Exodus & Dodge by Chris Samson and fellow member David Gillespie. These operations were put in place to airlift and repatriate thousands of Allied POWS as their camps were overrun by the Allied Armies.
Meeting at Woodham Mortimer Village Hall at 11.00.
