New government data has been published revealing the percentage of people across the Maldon district who have had one or two doses of an approved Covid vaccine.
The Maldon district has the highest vaccination rate in Essex according to figures up to and including 19 December, with 82.8 per cent of residents having their second dose and 88.2 per cent having their first.
The highest uptake in the district was in Maldon South, where 84.9 per cent of residents had two doses and 90.8 per cent had one dose by 19 December.
Southminster, Bradwell and the Dengie Peninsula had the lowest uptake in the district, with 79.1 per cent of residents having two doses and 84.2 per cent having one dose by 19 December.
It follows the prime minister's announcement this month that the booster programme is being ramped up across the country to tackle the surge of the Omicron variant.
The waiting time for the booster jab has been halved, so all eligible adults are able to book their jab from three months after their second dose.
The government's data reveals the percentage of people who have had one or two doses of the vaccine so far.
