A Maldon woman is planning to walk more than 500km over the next 12 weeks to raise vital funds for a local charity that supports young family carers.

Rachel Arnull is now about half way through has only got 130 k to go before she completes her challenge in aid of Action for Carers, based in Brickhouse Farm, Poulton Close.

Rachel said: "Some young carers provide more than 40 hours of care a week.

"Can you imagine what life must be like to care for someone while trying to deal with school, hormones, friend issues, etc.?

"Action for Family Carers provide one-to-one support, group support and respite for these youngsters, but they need funds to keep providing and expanding these services.

"I want to raise £1,000 to help this good cause. Punch Construction have started the ball rolling by sponsoring me and supplying me with a high vis to keep me safe."

A spokesperson for Action for Carers said: "Rachel has been doing amazingly even with the terrible weather, home schooling, working a fulltime job from home and the lockdown."

Rachel has a go fund me page which you can donate to by using the link here.
