Maldon Rotary Club has donated 32 laptops to help with home schooling in the local area.

Members of Maldon Rotary Club - helped by family members - braved this week's ice and snow to deliver the laptops to help the town's primary school children carry on their education at home.

Members of the group had been moved by the plight of youngsters who are unable to attend school because of the pandemic and have been left battling with insufficient IT equipment at home.

The Rotarians have also made a cash donation to the Cafe at St. Peter's Hospital, which provides vital support for vulnerable families in the area.

A spokesman for the club said: "The laptops issue has touched members' hearts and we were able to use money raised during the month-long Santa Sleigh collections to help these very worthwhile causes.

"It would not have been possible without the generosity of our friends in the Maldon area . Thank you ."
