The amazing Great War aerodrome at Stow Maries will re-open on 21 May with a programme of events

It has been confirmed that Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome will once again open its doors on Friday, 21 May.

The new opening hours will be from 10am to 4pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The historical attraction's Covid-secure, atmospheric Airmen's Mess will be back in full swing to offer snacks and drinks for all to enjoy.

Stow Maries' signature annual Wings & Wheels event will take place on Sunday, 30 May - Bank Holiday weekend. It will feature fabulous historical aircraft taking to the skies and have classical cars on show.

As an added bonus in 2021, a 'living history' group will take residency each month on site. The Nimy Company, 4th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers are affiliated to the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (RFF) and are regulars at The Tower of London and The Royal Air Force Museum. They will be offering a

keen insight into life in the heyday of the World war One aerodrome.

The popular site is also an official Visit England 'Good to Go' site

- meaning it has been assessed and awarded an

Industry Standard Certificate that recognises it has full Covid safety measures in place.

Stow Maries Chief Executive, Ian Flint said: "We are so happy to be able to open the site to our many supporters, old and new, this year.

"It has been a testing time for all of us – but together, and thanks to our generous supporters across the country, we are going to have a brilliant year!"
