Local power-walker to take on seven ultra marathons in seven days

A local woman will once again be taking on the ultimate challenge of fitness and determination this Summer.
For the second year running Lucy Cummins from Mayland and Gynette Janney from North Wales are undertaking seven ultra marathons in seven days. They will be powerwalking 31 miles a day while raising money for Breast Cancer causes.
The women start their challenge on July 12 in Wiltshire, completing Race to The Stones, before hot footing it to Cuty airport and completing the last 5 days in the Netherlands.
Lucy & Gynette first met on the 'London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge' in 2013 and become firm friends.
Lucy said: "Gynette and I have a unique friendship based on a mutual love of powerwalking. We have both supported and fundraised for the Breast Cancer Charity Walk since the early 2000's raising between us over £100,000.
"To take on seven ultra marathons in seven days is an emotional as well as physical & mental challenge - supporting each other throughout is a huge friendship commitment."
Last year they were finalists in the BBC Make a Difference Awards as fundraisers of the year.
