Firefighters are currently tackling a field fire near Chelmer Blackwater Reserve in Maldon. 

Firefighters from Maldon, Witham, West Mersea, Billericay and Chelmsford are in attendance. 

The Maldon to Heybridge A414 Bypass was closed by police in response to the incident, but reopened at 3.40pm.

Teams were called to the incident around 1.20pm.

Those who live in the area are advised to keep all windows and doors shut as there is a lot of smoke coming from the incident. 

The fire comes after a 'deliberate fire' at the reserve yesterday (July 13)
