Maldon District Council have thanked residents for their "overwhelming support and cooperation" after a successful waste collection day change.

The change of collection day, which started on 23 July, was part of an initiative to improve the efficiency of waste services across the District.

Cllr Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said; "We are extremely grateful to our residents for their cooperation during this transition.

"Their support has been instrumental in ensuring that the changeover was smooth and effective, with very minimal disruption to services.

"The decision to modify the waste collections were driven by the need to optimise collection routes, reduce environmental impact, and improve service reliability.

"The new schedule will result in a more timely and efficient waste collection service."

Barry Dolphin, Contract Manager at SUEZ, said: "We are delighted that the new collection routes in Maldon are bedding in well.

"Our crews have appreciated the kind comments from residents as they have been engaging with them while completing their rounds.

"We look forward to continuing our work with the community to keep the District clean and green."
