Promenade Park in Maldon will be the setting for a carol service with a difference this year.

The drive-in event will take place on Sunday, 20 December in the overflow car park beside the boating lake and is being hosted by Fullbridge Church.

There will be repeat services at 4.30pm and 7pm to allow as many households as possible to attend. Each service will laso around 45 minutes.

Every car attending will be given a bluetooth device to allow those inside to take part.

Andy Mugford of Fullbridge Church said: "You are invited to come along to our "Drive in Carol Service.

"It will be an open air cinema-style event with Bluetooth speakers given out to each car.

"We can only fit very few into our church building with social distancing and because we sense that a good carol sing would be something the local community would really enjoy, we have taken our annual carol service outside.

"With so much different this Christmas, we hope that this event will bring back a bit of Christmas hope and cheer."

While the service is completely free, booking is essential.
