A steady stream of fans of Maldon's iconic Thames sailing barges enjoyed a sneak preview of Red Sails - the latest exhibition at the town's Maeldune Centre.

Featuring paintings old and new of the famous red sailed barges, all works owned by the Maldon-based Thames Sailing Barge Trust and including several by local artists, all are offered for sale.

Would-be buyers can choose their favourite painting and collect it when the three-week exhibition ends on October 22.

Admission to the Maeldune Centre is free. The gallery is at the junction of Market Hill and Maldon High Street.

The doors are open 11am to 4pm, Tuesdays until Saturdays.
