Good morning, Maldon: the week ahead

By The Editor

7th Sep 2021 | Local News

MALDON is set for a sunny start to the week as a late summer mini-heatwave is forecast, with temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Centigrade tomorrow (Tuesday).

The new Covid-19 restrictions come into force today, with the 'rule of six' meaning that groups of more than six people who are not from the same household are illegal whether meeting indoors or outdoors. Maldon Nub News will bring you updates on the latest infection figures for the district as they become available.

This week will see Maldon District Council debate new government planning proposals that would see the minimum target number of new homes for the district each year more than double. Councillors will decide on their response to a consultation on the plans at a meeting on Thursday.

Maldon Nub News will be reporting later on today on a local care home that has just been given an overall "outstanding" rating by the Care and Quality Commission (CQC) for the standard of service it provides to its residents. Read a full report on what has been achieved at The Firstlings retirement home in The Street, Heybridge, at maldon.nub.news this afternoon.

There will also be a round-up this week of news from the High Street and how some of the shops are faring post-pandemic.

And, of course, all the top news stories for Maldon in the week ahead.

So have a good week and remember – for your local news visit maldon.nub.news – your town in your pocket!
