Maldon Town Council have confirmed that there will be a public consultation hearing held in Maldon Town hall.

The public consultation hearing will take place of Tuesday, March 19 at 12:30pm-8pm at Maldon Town Hall.

This consultation is part of the NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board's (ICB) eight-week period of consultation about specific health service changes.

The ICB want to seek views and ideas on their proposals for future arrangements for inpatient services.

This includes gathering community views on changes to Maldon's St Peter's hospital, in which proposals include relocation of in-patient and ambulatory services.

A spokesperson for Maldon Town Council has said: "We can now confirm there will be a public consultation hearing held at Maldon Town Hall.

"The NHS ICB has advised that this is an event that anyone can come along to, which will give people the opportunity to present evidence or tell the NHS their views on the proposals directly.

"Independent communications and involvement experts will run the event with a panel of subject experts. The session will be split into subject areas dependant on the people that come forward to present evidence.

"This is for groups, organisations or communities who would like the opportunity to present their views on the proposals directly to NHS leaders."

To attend you must register via Eventbrite online, and to submit evidence, email your interest in providing evidence to the following email address: [email protected].

The NHS ICB have also advised several other ways that members of the public get involved and have their say, such as completing their survey and contacting them via email at: [email protected].

"I would encourage all those with an interest in the future of healthcare in the District to attend and also to respond to the public consultation."- Maldon MP Sir John Whittingdale, on the NHS Mid and South Essex ICB Public Consultation.

This meeting is in addition to an upcoming public meeting organised by Town Mayor Andrew Lay and local MP Sir John Whittingdale.

This meeting will be held at Plume Academy Stage Hall on February 9, will be attended by Tracy Dowling, Chief Executive of the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board and other NHS Representatives, as well as the Mayor and local MP.
