After 7 weeks since their last game, Burnham enjoyed a doubleheader against League opponents Writtle Wanderers and both sides camE out with solid victories.

Burnham started as they left off with dominant forward play and strong a run from Tom Limpenney opening the scoring after 9 minutes. Followed shortly after by a second try from Danny Howell 4 minutes later.

After some further forward domination Jake Braybook went over followed shortly after by Joe Barr with a well-worked try which opened the flood gates slightly with further tries from Ben Barr a second from Tom Limpenny and Danny Howell.

The halftime score was 32 Nil .

The second half continued in a similar vein as the first with powerful scrums and runs by Number 8 Charlie Russo and man of the match Tom Ford making space to allow Burnham backs to spread the ball wide and make gaps in the Writtle defence.

Further scoring from Danny Howell, Ben Barr Charlie Russo and a well-earned Penalty try which was a direct response to the forward's superior scrummage. Further scores from Jake Braybrook, Tom Braybrook Conall Hornett and a final try for Tom Limpenney the game was all but over.

Writtle fought to the final whistle and full credit to them.

Final score was 77 Nil helped by 3 conversions from Ben Barr and 2 from Jake Braybrook

The Second team also won with an excellent performance and lent players to the opposition winning 62 -5.

The celebrations went on onto the night supported by the first social event of 2024 a fantastically organised night of "A Star in Their Eyes" duly won by Joe Petherick as George Michael.
