Maldon skies were illuminated on Saturday (November 2) during the annual Rotary Club Fireworks at Promenade Park.

From 5pm until late, residents enjoyed live music, tasty food and drink, red-hot entertainment, and a fabulous display.

The Rotary Club of Maldon want to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the display.

Brian Farrington, Chairman of the Organising Committee said, "We are thrilled and grateful for all the incredible support this year as we took the decision to increase capacity and were once again sold out with 7,000 tickets sold by lunchtime on Saturday.

"This means we will be able to distribute even more funds to Rotary and Essex charities and in tough times like this, it's amazing."

He continued,  "We couldn't take the risk of putting on such huge events without our sponsors. First Bus Essex being on board for 2024 was key to delivering such a great night out."

Claire Beard from First Bus said, "We were so happy to be part of the team this year and the event is well-loved in the community and raises considerable funds for local Essex and Rotary charities."

Brian added, "BBC Essex's Matt Mackay supported the event, both in the lead-up and on the night itself. His involvement is crucial in helping us raise awareness and achieve our fundraising goals and a huge thanks to our other major sponsors including, Maldon-based TFP Financial Planning, a UK top 100 company and the many other local companies who joined us including Borough Carpets, GSM Motor Mechanics, Heating Oil Direct and Events Factor Ltd, and we thank them for their generous support."

Finally Brian added, "Star Fireworks delivered a memorable evening with spectacular fireworks.

"This award-winning team orchestrates displays on the Thames in London at New Year, and we are proud to bring them to Maldon.

"We thank the local community for continuing to support the event, enabling us to contribute to many local charities and we hope this year will see over £25,000 distributed to good causes."
