Live well and prosper in Maldon!
By Nub News Reporter 4th Nov 2026
LOCAL organisations with ideas to improve health and wellbeing are being encouraged to apply for funding through the Maldon District Livewell Partnership small grants programme.
The programme brings together Public Health grants and Active Maldon grants, providing funding for projects that can make a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of residents across the Maldon District.
Public Health funding is available for projects that address at least two of three local health priorities: physical activity and obesity, social isolation, and mental health. Projects should be new and innovative, although previously run activities may be considered where applicants can show their success and explain how further funding would build on it.
Through the Public Health grant, eligible organisations can apply for up to £2,000 per project, with no minimum grant amount. Applications are open to a range of UK-registered organisations, including voluntary and community organisations, Charitable Incorporated Organisations, not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee, Community Interest Companies, educational settings, and statutory bodies.
Cllr Simon Morgan, leader of Maldon District Council, said: "We know there are organisations across the Maldon District with great ideas for helping people live healthier, happier and more connected lives.
"These small grants can help turn those ideas into action, whether that means encouraging people to be more active, helping people make new connections or supporting better mental health and wellbeing.
"I'd encourage local organisations with an idea that could make a difference to take a look at the guidance and see what support may be available."
The grants form part of the work of the Maldon Livewell Partnership Board, which brings together delivery partners to help address the health and wellbeing priorities of residents across the district.
There are different requirements for the Public Health and Active Maldon funding streams, so applicants should read the relevant guidance before applying.
Applications are open until 14 December 2026.
Funding is limited and the programme will remain open while funding is available.
