Lorry overturns on Maldon Road roundabout

A lorry has overturned on the Oak Corner roundabout, blocking access to Maldon Road from Danbury and Bicknacre.

The incident occured around 2pm today (Thursday, August 29).

At least three fire engines, a number of police vehicles, an ambulance and an air ambulance have attended the scene.

No other vehicles appear to have been involved, and we are yet to receive any information regarding the wellbeing of the lorry driver.

The roundabout connects Maldon Road (A414) to Danbury, as well as offering access to the B1010 to Hazeleigh and the B1418 to Bicknacre.

5PM UPDATE: Traffic remains slow in the area, as police remain on scene to help with the removal of the lorry.
