BUSINESSES in the Maldon district are being urged to sign up to the 'Made on the Saltmarsh Coast' scheme.

Aimed at helping local businesses get back on track after the Covid-19 pandemic, the idea is to help them promote produce, products and services to visitors and local people.

The initiative has been launched by Maldon District Sense of Place and is supported by Maldon District Council.

A spokesperson for the project said: "The project will be actively contacting consumers and businesses and stimulate them to maximize their spending with local independent companies, enabling those companies to serve more local customers in newer and safer ways."
