Maldon's Cross Road Co-op Food store has re-opened after being refurbished as part of a £5 million investment by the retailer.

The refurbishments, which form part of the East of England Co-op's portfolio reshape, include upgrades to sustainability and food-to-go offerings in the store.

The Cross Road shop has seen a number of new and improved benefits, including coffee-to-go, a brand new in-store bakery, and Tango Ice Blast and Fwip ice cream machines.

Andy Rigby, Chief Operating Officer at the East of England Co-op, said: "This investment in Maldon has allowed us to enhance our member and customer journey through upgrades to store sustainability and improved shopping experience. The East of England Co-op is the largest independent retailer in East Anglia with Food stores, Travel branches and Funeral Service branches across Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
